White Paper: Questrae*
A deep dive into the creation of our real-world adventuring platform.
Digital entertainment often keeps people isolated. Questrae* was built to bridge the gap between the screen and the real world, creating social, interactive experiences that encourage exploration and teamwork.
Questrae* is positioned to capitalize on the rapidly growing experience economy. It's a versatile platform ready for corporate team-building, city-wide scavenger hunts, or educational events, offering multiple B2B and B2C revenue models.
Questrae* is an online platform for creating and participating in real-world adventures. Events can be hand-crafted by content creators or moderated by AI, playable solo or with a group, turning any location into an interactive playground.
Development Process
Our primary goal for Questrae* was to build a flexible and powerful platform to transform any real-world location into a playground. Using an agile process, we worked in iterative sprints, developing a powerful event scripting engine while gathering continuous feedback from a closed group of beta testers. This ensured the core platform was both robust and intuitive for event creators.
The platform is built as a progressive web application using React and Next.js for cross-device compatibility without an app store download. The backend runs on Node.js within a secure and scalable cloud ecosystem, leveraging a NoSQL database to manage real-time geolocation data and team synchronization, and secure cloud storage for event-related media assets. This tech stack, combined with our iterative development cycle, allowed us to build a highly engaging and technically sound platform ready for a diverse market.
